Johnny Faulds founded Urge, opening the first studio in Victoria in 1995 and Urge 2 in Edmonton in 1999; his official page slug names him owner and artist. His profile describes almost thirty years of professional tattooing, a bold graphic illustrative style drawn from vintage book illustrators, and an appetite for cover-ups and blast-overs. A former Canadian Army infantryman, he went on to a visual arts program at Camosun College and still paints.
