They found ‘under managed’ artist owned supply companies making a profit and needed to get their greedy tentacles in on it. They started buying out businesses and stripping them for profits. Now that they have a commanding stake in the tattoo trade they’re pulling up the ladder behind them by lobbying for regulatory models and compliance laws using made up statistics.

It’s not just supply companies. Factory Capital is buying up independent shops and rolling them up into one giant conglomerate.

Their goal is monopolization and with that comes enshittification. We’ve all been subjected to the effects of companies that become too big to regulate. Rogers, Telus, Meta, Amazon, Walmart. The only thing these companies care about is the bottom line and to hell with their users and customers. That’s the opposite of why I’m a tattooer.
